Diane Keaton’s Latest Hat Will Make You Do a Double Take

Vote bitches hat

Diane Keaton is the queen of hats. The actor and style icon has a wardrobe full of them, ranging from chic brimmed styles, to more humble baseball caps and beanies. But her latest hat of choice comes with a message. Keaton was spotted in California this week using her signature accessory as a way to remind you to vote in the upcoming presidential election, which is happening in November. She was seen stopping at a gas station in a cap that read, “Vote bitches.”

Keaton has a history of embracing kitschy hats (she once wore one that simply read, “Boss”), but this certainly takes the cake. It was a blunt, and extremely cheeky, reminder that turning out to vote is especially crucial this year. (2020 is actually projected to have a higher turnout rate than usual.) She styled the cap with a quintessentially Keaton outfit consisting of a sleek black coat and high-waisted, wide-leg denim jeans.

Ahead of the election, we’re seeing a surge of voting-themed clothing. Earlier this week, Dr. Jill Biden, wife of Democratic nominee Joe Biden, stepped out in a pair of Stuart Weitzman knee boots that also read “Vote” on the sides. And who could forget Michelle Obama’s “Vote” necklace that she wore on the first night of the Democratic National Convention, back in August? Celebrities are recognizing that their fashion choices can promote voting turnout. And that’s a style statement that should never go out of style.Technically her hat does, but she’s wearing the hat, so really she is saying it.
